Entry Level Digital Prepress

We are looking to hire an entry level part-time, prepress person for our 20 employee commercial printing company in Seattle (Magnolia/Interbay area, just south of Ballard). This position is responsible to run digital copiers, output and assemble proofs, make plates using our Computer-to-Plate system plus some typesetting duties. Experience with RIPs and imposition software would be a big plus. We recently expanded our operations and have a very nice work environment. We would welcome, but not require, this hire to take on other responsibilities when ready.

Some of the characteristics that would help this hire contribute right away are:

• Experience working in a commercial printing company
• Good skills working with people including inside staff and clients
• Typesetting experience
• Comfortable working in the major graphics applications on the Mac
• Experience with digital color and black & white copiers
• Experience assembling proofs
• Exposure to imposition programs
• Digital plate making
• General shop help when prepress is slow

We are willing to train the right person in some of these areas, but certainly not all.

The position is part-time, days, Monday through Friday,with some flexiblity in hours and good compensation based on experience and contribution to our overall success.
